Girls’ Basketball Drops Non-League Matchup at Gilmour Academy, 68-37
The Central Catholic girls’ basketball team suffered a 68-37 setback against Gilmour Academy on Saturday in the Lancer Gymnasium. With the non-conference loss, the Fighting Irish fall to 0-3 overall.
The host Lancers jumped out to a commanding 21-3 lead vs. the Scarlet & Gray in the opening frame and never looked back.
Senior Paris Waites and junior Marissa Justen paced CCHS with 8 points each, followed closely by junior Nina Stevens and sophomore Madison Stricker with 7 points apiece.
Elaina Kline-Ruminski led GA with a game-high 18 points. Tia Shaw also contributed 12 points in the home victory, including 9 points in the pivotal 1st quarter.
Earlier in the afternoon, the CCHS junior varsity team sustained a 44-31 loss vs. Gilmour Academy.
Central Catholic will return to the court against Bowsher on Thursday, December 12 in a non-league matchup.
