Girls’ Basketball Falls to City League Preseason Favorite Start, 48-36

The Central Catholic girls' basketball team suffered a 48-36 setback against Start on Wednesday in the Sullivan Center. With the loss, the Fighting Irish fall to 1-1 on the season.

Junior Brooklyn Vaughn paced CCHS with 20 points and 16 rebounds, with classmate Corniya Clay contributing 12 points.

Sinai Douglas scored 20 points for the visiting Spartans (1-2), while Tai’Laya Garrison and Komara Sylvester had 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Earlier in the day, CCHS junior varsity defeated Start, 56-11.

Central Catholic will return to the hardwood against Lima Senior for its TRAC opener on Monday, Nov. 28 at 7:30 pm.
