Girls’ Basketball Selected No. 1 Seed in Division II Sectional Tourney Draw in Paulding District

The Central Catholic girls’ basketball team has been selected as the No. 1 seed in the Division II sectional tourney draw in the Paulding District for the upcoming Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) State Tournament.

The Fighting Irish, ranked No. 5 in the latest Associated Press Division II state poll, will play the winner of Maumee-Celina on Saturday, Feb. 19 at 5:30 pm at Ayersville High School.

Tournament play begins on Wednesday, Feb. 16, with the district finals slated for Saturday, Feb. 26.

Unbeaten CCHS (16-0, 10-0 TRAC) returns to the court this evening against Three Rivers Athletic Conference foe Oregon Clay at 6:30 pm in the Sullivan Center. Tickets are available at https://bit.ly/3s7QfTB. Central Catholic will look to sweep the regular-season series vs. the Eagles, securing a 57-17 road triumph back on Dec. 16.
