Chico Johnson Named to 2021-22 All-Blade Player of the Year Preseason Watch List

Central Catholic boys’ basketball junior Chico Johnson has been named one of three players to the All-Blade Player of the Year Preseason Watch List.

Johnson averaged a team-high 15.5 ppg and four rebounds for Central Catholic last season en route to Division II All-Ohio special mention and first-team All-Northwest District honors. Johnson is currently ranked eighth in Ohio in the Class of 2023 by ESPN.

A 4-star prospect, Johnson poured in at least 20 points on three occasions during the 2020-21 campaign, helping the Scarlet & Gray capture its first district title since 2011.

Johnson and the Fighting Irish open their 2021-22 season against Waite High School on Tuesday, Nov. 30 at 7:15 pm in the Sullivan Center.
