Spinazze Sisters Capture Doubles District Title

Central Catholic senior tennis players Bella Spinazze and Lucia Spinazze won the Division II doubles district title on Saturday, defeating Lima Bath’s Elena Oliver and Anne Oliver 6-1, 6-1 in the final.

The Spinazze’s, who ousted Milan Edison’s Torri Keyser and Alli Vogus 6-2, 6-2 in the semifinals, will now make their third-straight appearance at the state tournament as a pairing, where they finished third a year ago.

Bella Spinazze, who earlier this fall secured a Three Rivers Athletic Conference championship at No. 2 singles, also competed in the state tournament as a freshman, paired with 2019 graduate Rachel Gorman in the 2018 state finals.

The state tournament will be held on Friday-Saturday, Oct. 22-23 at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio.
