Three Boys’ Basketball Hoopsters Garner All-TRAC Laurels

Three members of the Central Catholic boys’ basketball team have been selected to the All-Three Rivers Athletic Conference team.

Highlighting the Fighting Irish’s selections is junior Chico Johnson, who secured first-team All-TRAC recognition for the second-straight year.

Senior Micah Thames and junior Michael Greenlee Jr. also earned honorable mention all-league acknowledgement. Greenlee collected honorable mention all-conference accolades for the second-consecutive season.

The Fighting Irish posted a 9-5 mark in the ultra-competitive TRAC this past winter, finishing tied for third in the league standings with Findlay.

Central Catholic (19-5), the No. 1 seed in the Millbury District, will play Tiffin Columbian (19-5) in the District Final on Saturday, March 5 at 7 pm at Lake High School. A season ago, the Fighting Irish registered a 55-49 victory against the No. 2 seed Tornadoes in the District Final to claim their first district crown since 2011.
