Students Create Their Own Ted Talks

Mrs. Carolyn Anderson’s speech classes watched and analyzed a variety of Ted Talks, and then were assigned the project of creating their own.  They chose their own topic and framework for organization, and students in Central Catholic’s Media Technology class recorded the talks.

The only stipulation was that the topic needed to be an idea worth spreading, which is the focus of the TED organization.  According to its website, TED is a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks. It began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment, and Design converged, and today it covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues — in more than 100 languages.

Below you can experience some of Central Catholic’s very own TED Talks.
