- What subjects and grade levels do you teach?
I teach Robotics to grades 10-12 and AP Physics to grades 11 and 12.

- What is your coaching position with the girls' basketball team?
I am the Varsity Assistant Coach and this is my 2nd year in this position at Central Catholic.  I gained an interest in coaching when my sisters were coaching at CCHS from 2020-22.  I began my coaching career at St. Ursula Academy in 2022-23 as the JV head coach, and we finished with a record of 15-4 and as JV Champions in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference (TRAC).

- What is your educational background?
I graduated from Central Catholic in 2020.  I will graduate from the University of Toledo in December 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.

- What made you want to take this teaching position?
As I neared graduation from college, I felt that God was asking me to give back to Central Catholic.  Additionally, coaching here last year helped me realize that I wanted to be more involved at CCHS.  Ultimately, I wanted to give back to the place that has given so much to me.

- What is special about Central Catholic that makes you want to work and coach here?
The PEOPLE.  The faculty, staff, alumni, and volunteers at CCHS make a tremendous impact on the students and everyone who walks through the doors.  There really is no place like Central Catholic that helps individuals to grow in mind, body, and spirit.

- What do you hope your impact will be on your students?
I hope that I allow my students to see the impact they can make on the world and those around them through whatever career path they choose after high school.

- What are your hobbies or interests outside of work?
I love to be active and work out.  I spend my free time with my family and visiting my sisters, Alex Best and Lyndsey Matus.  They are 2016 CCHS graduates and are currently serving as family doctors in the United States Air Force at Nellis Air Force Base near Las Vegas.  My parents, Edward and Coral Matus, are continuous supporters of CCHS and Lady Irish basketball.
