Austin Guerra Tosses No-Hitter vs. Wauseon in Sectional Baseball Tournament

Central Catholic sophomore RHP Austin Guerra pitched a no-hitter against Wauseon on Thursday in the Division II sectional round of the OHSAA State Tournament at Mercy Field. Guerra recorded four strikeouts over 6.0 innings to help the Fighting Irish advance in the post season.

With the shutout victory, Guerra and Scarlet & Gray will now face Napoleon this evening on the road in the sectional tourney final at 5 pm at Booster Field.

Last night’s effort was not out of the ordinary for Guerra, who tossed a “Perfect Game” against Fremont Ross a season ago as a member of the CCHS junior varsity squad.

Along with Guerra’s outstanding performance on the mound, Central Catholic benefited from multi-hit efforts by senior Jace Sanchez, senior AJ Parker, junior Brandon Wells, and sophomore Jaxon Sanchez to blank the visiting Indians.
