Boys’ Basketball Comes Up Short vs. Rossview at NXT LVL HoopsFest, 62-58

The Central Catholic boys’ basketball team dropped a 62-58 decision vs. Rossview (TN) on Wednesday at the NXT LVL HoopsFest on the campus of Christ Presbyterian Academy. With the neutral-court setback in Nashville, the Fighting Irish fall to 1-4 on the season.

Central Catholic fell behind early against the Hawks, 28-12, after the opening quarter. They made a late charge, though, and outscored the Hawks, 34-23, in the 2nd half, but it was too little, too late.

Senior Isaiah Brenneman paced CCHS with a season-high 17 points, followed closely by sophomore Manny Johnson with 14 points. Sophomore Sharard Vaughn III and freshman Isaiah Mack-Russell added 9 and 8 points, respectively.

Rossview finished with 4 players in double figures, led by Jacob Edwards with a game-high 19 points. Cam Ward (14 pts.), Landon Hankemeier (13 pts.), and Quamond Linsey (10 pts.) also tallied double digits vs. the Scarlet & Gray.

The Fighting Irish will return to action against Brentwood Academy on Thursday, Dec. 28 in the 2nd game of the NXT LVL HoopsFest at 4 p.m. at CPA.
