Boys’ Basketball Defeats Arch-Rival St. John’s Jesuit, 53-45
The Central Catholic boys’ basketball team registered a hard-fought 53-45 victory against arch-rival St. John’s Jesuit on Friday in the Titan Dome. With the road triumph, CCHS improves to 4-0 overall, 3-0 in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference.
Senior Micah Thames paced the unbeaten Fighting Irish with a season-high 17 points, followed by junior Chico Johnson with 10. Sophomore Isaiah Brenneman added eights, while senior Sam Lee had seven and freshman Makhi Leach tallied six.
CJ Hornbeak led the Titans (4-1) with a game-high 19 points.
Earlier in the evening, the CCHS freshman team dropped a 35-28 decision vs. the Titans, while the junior varsity squad prevailed 42-39.
Central Catholic will return to the hardwood against SPIRE Institute & Academy on Saturday, Dec. 18 at Lima Senior High School as part of the Coach Q Kewpee Holiday Classic.
