Boys’ Basketball Falls to Lima Senior on Road, 52-43

The Central Catholic boys’ basketball team suffered a 52-43 setback at 4-time reigning Three Rivers Conference champion Lima Senior on Friday in the Lima Senior Gymnasium. With the loss, the Fighting Irish fall to 14-4 overall, 8-3 in the league.

The host Spartans (13-5, 7-5 TRAC) outscored CCHS 18-4 in the 2nd quarter to take control of the contest.

Junior Isaiah Brenneman paced the Scarlet & Gray with a game-high 19 points. Senior Kechan Johnson Jr. was Central Catholic's next high scorer with 9 points on the strength of 3 triples. 

Brandon Moore led Lima Senior with 15 points, followed closely by Anthony Mosley and Amarion Glenn with 14 and 11 points, respectively.

Earlier in the evening, the CCHS freshman team claimed a 50-43 victory against the Spartans, while the junior varsity squad registered a 61-31 road win to remain undefeated. 

Central Catholic will return to the hardwood versus rival St. Francis de Sales on Tuesday, Feb. 7. The opening tip vs. the Knights is scheduled for 7:30 pm in “The Pit.” Tickets for Tuesday’s league matchup MUST be pre-purchased online at sfsathletics.org/tickets. Back on Jan. 18, CCHS dropped a 48-44 overtime decision vs. St. Francis de Sales in the Sullivan Center.
