Boys’ Basketball Gets Past Gilmour Academy at Home, 52-50

The Central Catholic boys’ basketball team secured a 52-50 victory against Gilmour Academy on Tuesday in the Sullivan Center. With the non-league home triumph, the Fighting Irish improve to 3-5 on the season.

CCHS outscored the Lancers 14-6 at the charity stripe to help the Scarlet & Gray win back-to-back games for the 1st time this winter. The trio of freshman Isaiah Mack-Russell (5 pts.), senior Isaiah Brenneman (4 pts.), and sophomore Draden Wardop (4 pts.) accounted for all but 1 of Central Catholic’s free throws in a tightly contested matchup.

Wardop led a balanced Central Catholic offense with a game-high 16 points, followed closely by classmate Kaeden Carruthers with 14 points. Mack-Russell and Brenneman added 9 and 8 points, respectively.

Nick Iliano paced GA (6-4) with 12 points.
