Girls’ Basketball Loses Against Gilmour Academy at Home, 55-43

The Central Catholic girls’ basketball team suffered a 55-43 setback against Gilmour Academy on Saturday in the Sullivan Center. With the home loss, the Fighting Irish fall to 4-3 on the season.

Senior Corniya Clay paced the Scarlet & Gray with 14 points, followed by classmate Brooklyn Vaughn with 10 points and a team-high 9 rebounds.

Senior Sophia Farrugia and sophomore Nina Stevens also contributed 6 points each.

Earlier in the day, the CCHS junior varsity squad dropped a 36-19 decision against the Lancers.

Central Catholic will return to the court against Springfield on Saturday, Jan. 6 at 7:15 p.m. at Springfield High School.
