Boys’ Basketball Loses at Detroit Catholic Central, 64-59

The Central Catholic boys’ basketball team dropped a 64-59 decision at Detroit Catholic Central on Friday in Novi. With the road loss, the Fighting Irish fall to 5-8 overall, 0-4 in the Catholic High School League (CHSL).

The Shamrocks outscored CCHS 17-10 in the 4th quarter to hand the Scarlet & Gray its 4th-straight conference setback.

Freshman Isaiah Mack-Russell paced Central Catholic with 15 points, followed closely by sophomores Manny Johnson and Draden Wardop with 13 and 11 points, respectively.

Uchenna Amene led DCC (9-4, 3-3 CHSL) with a game-high 22 points and Devin Lee added 19 points.

Earlier in the evening, the CCHS freshman team suffered a 58-16 loss against DCC, while the junior varsity squad secured a 66-60 road triumph.

Central Catholic will return to the court at Toledo Start on Saturday, January 20 at 7:30 p.m.
