Central Catholic to Hold Fundraisers for Girls’ Basketball Coach’s Son on January 29-30

Central Catholic will hold fundraisers on Monday, January 29 and Tuesday, January 30 to benefit Colton Stanley and his family.  Colton is the 4-year-old son of CCHS teacher and head girls’ basketball coach, Corri (Helldobler) Stanley (Class of 2003), and he is fighting T-cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma.

On January 29 during the school day, Central Catholic students and staffulty are invited to dress down in their #ColtonStrong shirts or Irish spirit wear if they contribute $1.  Later that evening, a 50/50 raffle and a special basket raffle will take place at the Lady Irish vs. Perrysburg basketball game at 7:30 p.m. in the Sullivan Center.  Colton and the Stanley family will participate in an honorary jump ball prior to the contest.  Colton will be presented with a custom Wilson ball and a $500 check from Parker’s Purpose, a foundation that provides service to those in need and strives to foster self-esteem to those who give.

On January 30, an additional 50/50 raffle and basket raffle will take place at the Fighting Irish vs. St. John’s Jesuit basketball matchup at 7:30 p.m. in the Sullivan Center.

The raffle baskets have been donated by Central Catholic’s staffulty, and include themes such as Toledo/419, Game Night, Kitchen Tools, Snow Day, CCHS Athletics, Coffee, Lotto Tree, Family Fund Night, and Spa Day.  All raffle and 50/50 tickets will be sold for $1 each during the first 3 quarters of the boys’ basketball game.  Winners will be announced between quarters 3 and 4.

“We are excited to share our love for Colton, Corri, and the whole Stanley family, especially because what we have planned allows us the opportunity to make an impact beyond our immediate student body,” said CCHS Principal Morgan Delp. “We look forward to spreading the #ColtonStrong message within the community, and we think it will be 2 wonderful nights of unity with a purpose that transcends basketball. We invite all to attend to rally behind Colton and our beloved teacher and coach, as we aim to sell out both games.”

All proceeds from these fundraisers will be presented to the Stanley family.  We invite the Irish family and the Toledo community to come out and support this special cause!
