Boys’ Basketball Loses at TRAC Preseason Favorite Lima Senior, 70-56

The Central Catholic boys’ basketball team dropped a 70-56 decision against Lima Senior on Friday in a battle for first place in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference. With the loss at the Gym at Lima Senior High School, CCHS falls to 9-2 overall, 4-2 in the TRAC.

Freshman Makhi Leach paced the second-ranked Fighting Irish with 16 points, and junior Chico Johnson added 14.

Brent Moss led the TRAC preseason favorite Spartans (7-1, 6-0 TRAC) with a game-high 24 points, while Ant Mosley and Khalil Luster had 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Earlier in the evening, the CCHS freshman team suffered a 50-41 setback against Lima Senior.

Central Catholic will return to the hardwood against TRAC rival Whitmer on Tuesday, Jan. 11. Freshman will begin the action at 4:45 pm versus the Panthers in the Sullivan Center, followed by the junior varsity and varsity at 6 pm and 7:30 pm, respectively.
