Girls’ Basketball Prevails at TRAC Rival Whitmer, 59-50
The Central Catholic girls’ basketball team earned a hard fought 59-50 victory against Whitmer on Monday in the Whitmer Field House. With the road triumph, CCHS improves to 11-0 overall, 7-0 in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference.
Senior Brinn Hunt paced the unbeaten Fighting Irish with a season-high 24 points, followed by sophomore Brooklyn Vaughn with 17. Hunt drained two shots from beyond the arc and made 10 free throws.
Denni Lawrence led the Panthers with 20 points, while Lia Rivers had 12.
Earlier in the evening, the CCHS junior varsity squad secured a resounding 52-26 victory against Whitmer.
Central Catholic will return to the hardwood vs. TRAC foe Lima Senior on Thursday, Jan. 13. The varsity contest between the Scarlet & Gray and Spartans will tip off at 6:30 pm in the Gym at Lima Senior High School. The CCHS junior varsity will be back in action against Trotwood-Madison on Monday, Jan. 17 at 1 pm at home.
