Boys’ Basketball Manhandles Peninsula (Wash.) in Opening Game of Cactus Jam, 76-46

The Central Catholic boys’ basketball team secured a 76-46 win against Peninsula (Wash.) on Tuesday at the Cactus Jam Tournament in Phoenix. With the dominating non-conference victory at Sunnyslope High School, CCHS improves to 4-1 on the season.

The Scarlet & Gray took control of the neutral-site contest by outscoring the Seahawks 21-9 in the 2nd period to stretch its winning streak to 4-straight games.

Sophomore Makhi Leach paced a season-high 5 Fighting Irish in double figures with a contest-high 17 points, followed closely by senior Michael Greenlee Jr. and junior Isaiah Brenneman with 14 and 13 points, respectively.

CCHS also benefited from 11 points by senior Noah Langford and 10 from classmate Ty’Waun Clark.

Gabe Sarno led Peninsula with 15 points and Isaiah Brown added 10 points.

Central Catholic will return to the hardwood against Central Bucks East (Pa.) on Wednesday, Dec. 28 at Noon (MT, 2 pm ET) at Sunnyslope HS.
