Boys’ Basketball Pulls Away from Fairview Park at Jingle Bell Jam, 71-66
The Central Catholic boys’ basketball team secured a 71-66 victory against Fairview Park on Wednesday as part of the Jingle Bell Jam at the Cedar Point Sports Center. With the neutral-court triumph, CCHS improves to 7-1 on the season.
Junior Michael Greenlee, Jr. paced a balanced Fighting Irish attack with 14 points and four helpers. Senior Micah Thames added 13 points, classmate Sam Lee had 13 points with a squad-tying best 10 rebounds to post a double-double, and junior Brian Bishop chipped in a season-high 12 points.
The Scarlet & Gray also benefited from a near triple-double from junior Chico Johnson, who finished with nine points, a team-tying high 10 caroms and a squad-best seven dimes.
Earlier in the evening, the CCHS Junior Varsity squad tallied a 47-43 win against the Warriors.
Central Catholic will return to the hardwood against Trotwood-Madison on Thursday, Dec. 30 in the Sullivan Center. Junior Varsity will start things off at 3 pm on Cherry Street, followed by the Varsity at 5 pm.
