Boys’ Basketball Rallies Past Findlay at Home, 54-40

The Central Catholic boys’ basketball team registered a 54-40 win against Findlay on Tuesday in the Sullivan Center. With the home victory, CCHS improves to 12-3 overall, 7-2 in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference.

The 5th-ranked Fighting Irish utilized a game-changing 20-8 scoring edge in the 3rd quarter to help them sweep the regular-season series vs. the Trojans (10-6, 6-4 TRAC). Back on Dec. 20, CCHS defeated Findlay, 57-33, on the road.

Junior Isaiah Brenneman led the Scarlet & Gray with a game-high 17 points, followed by senior Michael Greenlee Jr. with 11 points.

Jake Bishop paced Findlay with 15 points.

Earlier in the evening, the CCHS freshman team suffered a 43-41 setback against the Trojans, while the junior varsity squad secured a 41-27 home win. 

Central Catholic returns to the hardwood versus Fremont Ross on Friday, Jan. 27. The opening tip vs. the Little Giants is slated for 7:30 pm in the Sullivan Center. Tickets for Friday’s league matchup MUST be pre-purchased online at bit.ly/3EjJhky. Back on Jan. 3, CCHS prevailed against Fremont Ross, 71-59, in “The Purple Pit.”
