Boys’ Basketball Falls Short vs. De La Salle Collegiate in CHSL Bishop Championship Tournament, 68-56

The Central Catholic boys' basketball team sustained a 68-56 loss against De La Salle Collegiate on Saturday in the CHSL Bishop Championship Tournament Quarterfinals at Marian High School.  With the neutral-site setback, CCHS falls to 10-8 on the season.

The Pilots outscored the Fighting Irish 38-28 over the course of the middle 2 quarters to defeat the Scarlet & Gray for a 2nd time in the last 10 days.  Back on January 31, Central Catholic dropped a 71-63 decision vs. DLSC on the road.

Sophomore Isaiah Mack-Russell paced CCHS with 21 points.  A 2023-24 Division II Honorable Mention All-Ohio honoree, Mack-Russell has now tallied at least 20 points on 7 occasions this season.

The duo of junior Draden Wardrop (11 pts.) and junior Manny Johnson (10 pts.) also tallied double digits in the tourney matchup, followed closely by sophomore Cayden Kynard (9 pts.).

Phoenix Glassnor led DLSC with a game-high 24 points, while Armoni Portis and Braeden Holder contributed 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Central Catholic will return to the hardwood against rival St. Francis de Sales on Monday, February 17 at 6 p.m. in The Pit.
