Wrestling Places 5th at Dick Hoover Invitational

The Central Catholic wrestling team placed 5th at the Dick Hoover Invitational on Saturday in the Springfield Fieldhouse.

The Fighting Irish had 4 wrestlers finish runner-up at the 1-day event on the campus of Springfield High School. The quartet of senior Emilio Herrera (120 pounds), sophomore Brendan Zapadka (106 pounds), sophomore Alex Guerra (126 pounds), and sophomore Joel Osbourne (138 pounds) each placed 2nd in their respective weight classes.

In addition, senior Anthony Clark, Jr. (215 pounds) and sophomore Andrei Irimia (175 pounds) finished in 3rd place, while freshman Devin Joyner (157 pounds) placed 5th at Saturday’s invite.

CCHS will return to the mat for the Division II Sectional Championships on Saturday, February 22 at 9 a.m. at Clyde High School.
