Boys’ Basketball Steamrolls Fremont Ross at Home, 75-31

The Central Catholic boys’ basketball team sprinted past Fremont Ross 75-31 on Friday in the Sullivan Center. With the dominating home victory, CCHS improves to 13-3 overall, 8-2 in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference.

The Fighting Irish tallied 22 points in each of the 1st 3 quarters to help them sweep the regular-season series vs. the Little Giants (4-11, 1-9 TRAC). Back on Jan. 3, CCHS defeated Fremont Ross, 71-59, on the road.

Sophomore Makhi Leach led the Scarlet & Gray with a season-high 22 points, followed by junior Isaiah Brenneman with 14 points. Senior Kechan Johnson Jr. also contributed 9 points in the dominating 44-point triumph.

Ayden Carter paced Fremont Ross with 16 points.

Earlier in the evening, the CCHS freshman team suffered a 30-27 loss against the Little Giants, while the junior varsity squad registered a 55-26 home win to remain undefeated. 

Central Catholic returns to the hardwood versus Bowsher on Tuesday, Jan. 31. The opening tip vs. the Blue Racers is scheduled for 7:15 pm in the Sullivan Center. Tickets for Tuesday’s non-league matchup MUST be pre-purchased online at bit.ly/3EjJhky.
