Central Catholic Announces Schedule for 2023 Summer Success Classes
Central Catholic High School will once again offer Summer Success classes for students to improve their academic skills, prepare for the ACT, and to ensure their success in college and their careers. Our Freshman Success course is mandatory for all incoming freshmen so they have the tools and confidence they need to succeed at Central Catholic.
“Central Catholic continues to set itself apart from other high schools in how we deliver outside-of-class enrichment and support opportunities, including our summer courses,” said CCHS Principal Morgan Delp. “We have offered summer programming, taught by our own teachers, since long before COVID-19, but the need for these programs has never been greater. This year, we are excited to announce new programming for our rising sophomores through seniors, designed to meet the needs of our current students and the demands of post-graduate life. We will continue our incoming freshman programming, which has been really successful for the past two summers in the transition of our new students into the Irish family."
The following Summer Success programs will be offered this year, and the cost of each course is $25.
ACT BOOSTER
This class is offered to rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors and is open to any student desiring an improved ACT score for college admission and college scholarships. A large focus will be placed on the math section.
· June ACT Class: May 30-June 2 and June 5-8 (Noon-2 pm). The June ACT is June 10 and the deadline to register for that is May 5.
· July ACT Class: July 5-6 (Noon-3 pm) and July 10-13 (Noon-2 pm). The July ACT is July 15 and the deadline to register for that is June 16.
POST-GRAD GAME PLAN
This class is offered to rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Explore your path and solidify your game plan during high school to ensure your success after you graduate. Whether your path is in the trades or at an Ivy League university, this class will equip you with the tools to be ready for both. Lessons include career exploration, resume creation, application practice, and more!
· Session 1: June 12-15 from Noon-2 pm.
· Session 2: July 17-20 from Noon-2 pm.
FRESHMAN SUCCESS (Mandatory)
This class is mandatory for all incoming freshmen in the Class of 2027. All incoming freshmen will experience Central Catholic High School through this two-week summer freshman success course. Taught by teachers and current students, the class breaks students into three groups so that they get what they need to be successful in high school. Some students are ready to prepare for the ACT and learn about our honors program, while others practice study skills and math facts. All students learn about becoming Irish from a variety of faculty, staff, alumni, and students.
· Session 1: June 19-22 and June 26-29 from 9 am-Noon.
· Session 2: July 17-20 and July 24-27 from 9 am-Noon.
