Boys’ Basketball Streaks Past TRAC Rival Findlay on Road, 57-33

The Central Catholic boys’ basketball team secured a 57-33 victory against Findlay on Tuesday in the Findlay HS Gymnasium. With the convincing road triumph, the Fighting Irish improve to 3-1 overall, 2-0 in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference.

CCHS set the tone at the outset, outscoring the Trojans 18-7 in the opening period to stretch its winning streak to 3-straight games.

Senior Michael Greenlee Jr. paced the victorious Scarlet & Gray with a game-high 20 points and 8 rebounds, followed closely by sophomore Makhi Leach with a season-best 17 points.

CCHS also benefited from 7 points each by senior Ty’Waun Clark and junior Isaiah Brenneman to snap a 3-game losing skid in the series.  

Luke Weihrauch led the host Trojans (4-2, 2-1 TRAC) with 12 points.

Earlier in the evening, the CCHS freshman lost to Findlay, 49-43, while the junior varsity team registered a 56-32 triumph against its TRAC opponent.

Central Catholic will return to the hardwood against Skyview High School on Tuesday, Dec. 27 in the 1st of 3 games at the Cactus Jam in Phoenix, Ariz. The opening tip versus Skyview is slated for 10:30 am (Mountain Standard Time) at Sunnyslope High School. Next Tuesday's contest will be livestreamed on BallerTV at https://bit.ly/3GaA68b.

CCHS was originally scheduled to play at Perrysburg on Friday, Dec. 23, but that non-conference matchup has been postponed due to the inclement weather that is expected to hit the Midwest in the coming days.
