Central Catholic Hosts Internet Safety Assembly on March 14
Central Catholic held an internet safety presentation for its students on Friday, March 14 in Krompak Hall. The assembly featured guest speakers Tamia and Tim Woods, the parents of a teen who committed suicide after being cyberbullied. The couple has since founded the Do It For James Foundation (letsdifj.org).
The speakers shared their story to educate students and encourage communication between students and their parents and other trusted adults about phone, internet, and social media use. The presentation was designed to give students a better understanding of how to stay safe from predators and to protect their wellbeing, both mentally and physically.
The Do It for James Foundation (DIFJF) is a nonprofit organization that works with communities to increase awareness and provide support and education to both parents and children about crime against students, while also supplying a wide range of assistance for those in need.
