Central Catholic Presents Festival of Lively Arts on March 31
Central Catholic High School presents its Festival of Lively Arts (FOLA) on Monday, March 31 from 5-8 p.m. in the Sullivan Center. This FREE event is open to the public and features student visual artwork in a variety of mediums, and LIVE musical performances by the Concert Band, String Orchestra, Mixed Chorus, and Glee Club, as well as a preview of our spring musical, The Little Mermaid.
In addition, this year’s event will spotlight art pieces from Catholic elementary students at St. Benedict, St. Rose, and St. Joseph's of Maumee. There will also be People’s Choice Awards for all the art pieces on display.
CCHS Band and Orchestra Director Danielle Consolo is excited to showcase the hard work they have put into their pieces this semester. “This event is a unique opportunity for them to share their musical talents and dedication with their peers, friends, family, and the community,” she said. “At Central Catholic, we believe in fostering creativity and expression through the arts, and events like this allow our students to demonstrate the power of music and the teamwork that goes into creating something special. We invite everyone to join us and support these talented young musicians!”
According to alumna Rebecca Buckman (Class of 2004), Director of Vocal Music, “Our Mixed Chorus will be performing 2 pieces, including something from Peter Pan, and they will be able to show how they’ve grown and developed this year. The Glee Club will be performing several songs from our upcoming musical, The Little Mermaid, and this gives multiple students a chance to shine. We hope everyone comes to get a preview of this fantastic show!”
The spring musical will take place on Friday-Sunday, May 2-4 at the Valentine Theatre in downtown Toledo. Tickets will go on sale Monday, March 17 at 10 a.m. at valentinetheatre.com/events.html.
