Boys’ Basketball Manhandles Fostoria in Sectional Final, 81-34

The Central Catholic boys’ basketball team coasted to an 81-34 victory against Fostoria on Friday in the Division II sectional final at Bowsher High School. With the dominating win, CCHS improves to 18-5 on the season.

The top-seeded Fighting Irish raced out to a 24-4 advantage after the opening quarter and never looked back against the ninth-seeded Redmen (13-10).

Junior Chico Johnson paced the victorious Scarlet & Gray with a game-high 16 points, followed by freshman Makhi Leach with 12.

Zach Ward led Fostoria with 13 points.

CCHS will now face sixth-seeded Port Clinton, a 39-37 winner over Maumee earlier in the evening, in a district semifinal on Wednesday, March 2 at 7:30 pm at Lake High School.
