Five Boys’ Basketball Players Collect All-District VII Accolades

Five players on the Central Catholic boys’ basketball team have been named to the All-District VII Division II squad. CCHS’s five honorees are the most by any school. In addition, Head Coach Mike Floyd earned Coach of the Year accolades.

Highlighting Central Catholic’s selections is junior Chico Johnson, who was tabbed the DII Player of the Year. Johnson is earning all-district recognition for the second-straight year, garnering first-team laurels a season ago.

Senior Micah Thames also collected first-team recognition, junior Michael Greenlee Jr. received second-team honors, while senior Sam Lee and freshman Makhi Leach garnered honorable mention recognition.

Central Catholic (17-5), the No. 1 seed in the Millbury District for the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) State Tournament, will play Fostoria in the Sectional Final this evening at 7:30 pm at Bowsher High School.
