Central Catholic Named “Best Private School” in Northwest Ohio for 4th-Straight Year by TCP

Central Catholic High School has been named “Best Private School” in Northwest Ohio in the Toledo City Paper’s Best of Toledo 2023.  This is the 4th-straight time Central Catholic is receiving this honor.  Readers of the Toledo City Paper vote for their favorites in categories that include shops, services, professionals, health and wellness, food, art, media, music, and community.  This is the 26th year for the contest, and the newspaper had hundreds of thousands of votes across 250 categories for 2023. 

Central Catholic is honored to have been chosen by the community for this distinction after being voted the “Best Private School” in Northwest Ohio for 2020, 2021 and 2022.  CCHS was also selected “Best Private High School” in the 2020 inaugural Blade Readers' Choice Awards.  

In addition, Central Catholic finished runner-up in the category of “Best High School” to Sylvania Southview for 2023.

“It's an honor to be named the ‘Best Private School’ in NW Ohio, and I think it speaks to the dedication and excellence of our teachers and other staff who pour into our students every day.,” said Central Catholic Principal Morgan Delp.  “It is also a reflection of our students.  They make this a great place to go to school by their kindness, enthusiasm, and desire to grow and get better.  I encourage anyone who has never been to campus before to visit us and see what makes us NW Ohio's Best Private School option."

David Kidd, Central Catholic’s Priest Leader.  “When we keep God at the center of our school, good things happen.  We are so blessed with amazing faculty, staff, students, family, alumni, and friends of Central Catholic.  God is good!”

Added senior Mary Cornell, “When I heard that we were named ‘Best Private School,’ it came as no surprise to me.  It reinforces everything I know and love about this school.  Central Catholic has given me the resources to thrive in a diverse and supportive environment, and of course, the Irish always come out on top!”

“Being named ‘Best Private School’ shows why CCHS is the place to be,” said senior RaKaiya Phillips. “I have grown academically and in my faith while attending Central Catholic. My family, teachers, staff, and peers are the reason I'm in the position I am today.” 

Added senior Sophia Farrugia, “When I heard this news, I felt a huge sense of pride. This goes to show how strong Central Catholic is and how its legacy continues to build. I couldn't be happier knowing that I get to be a part of this fantastic school, legacy, and community. Go Irish!”
