The Central Catholic football team flexed its muscles en route to securing a 28-7 triumph against rival Whitmer on Friday. With the impressive win, the Fighting Irish improve to 6-2 overall, 5-0 in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference.

After a 90-minute lightning delay, CCHS jumped out a 21-0 halftime lead and held the Panthers (6-2, 4-1 TRAC) to a season-low point total to stretch its win streak to six-straight contests.

The Fighting Irish which is ranked No. 10 in the Associated Press Division II State Poll for a second-straight week, finished with a 396-301 advantage in total offense.

Junior RB Chris Edmonds added a pair of TD runs, covering 4 and 9 yards, respectively.
