Central Catholic to Host Dance Showcase on August 14

Central Catholic will host a Preseason College Dance Team Showcase featuring The Ohio State University Dance Team, the University of Michigan Dance Team, the Michigan State University Dance Team, and our own Irish Dance Team (IDT).  Several other high school dance teams will also perform.

The event will take place Wednesday, August 14 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sullivan Center.  Doors open at 6 p.m.  Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at CentralCatholic.org/tickets.

This past school year, IDT was recognized for “Best Choreography in Jazz” at the OASSA State Cheer & Dance Championships.  Under the direction on alumna Nikki Toland (Class of 2008), they also finished runner-up in the categories of Small Jazz and Large Hip-Hop at the state championships.

IDT has placed Top 3 on 11 occasions at the championships since 2018, capturing 6 state titles.  They have secured 5 state championships in Hip-Hop (2018, ’19, ’20, ’22, ‘23) and 1 in Jazz (2022).
