Central Catholic to Host National Dance Showcase Featuring OSU, UM, MSU, & IDT on January 11

Central Catholic High School will host the 2nd-annual College National Dance Showcase on Saturday, January 11 in the Sullivan Center. 

The event will feature dance teams from The Ohio State University, the University of Michigan, and Michigan State University, as well as Jazz and Hip-Hop performances from Central Catholic’s Irish Dance Team (IDT) and other area high schools.   

The showcase will begin at 4 p.m.  Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at CentralCatholic.org/tickets.

“We are once again honored to host the dance showcase at Central Catholic,” said Athletic Director Greg Dempsey.  “The Sullivan Center is one of the premier facilities in the state of Ohio, and we are a perfect fit to host this event.”

IDT has finished Top 3 at the OASSA State Cheer & Dance Championships on 11 occasions since 2018, capturing 6 state titles.  They have secured 5 state titles in Hip-Hop (2018, ’19, ’20, ’22, ‘23) and 1 in Jazz (2022).  In addition, IDT was recognized for “Best Choreography in Jazz” at the 2024 OASSA Championships.
