Five Softball Players Earn Academic All-TRAC Honors
Five members of the Central Catholic softball team have been named to the Academic All-Three Rivers Athletic squad, the league office recently announced.
Senior Abigail Bluhm, junior Mia Alvarado, junior Aliciana Martinez, sophomore Angelina Martinez, and sophomore Molly McGurk were each selected to the conference’s all-academic squad. The duo of Bluhm and Aliciana Martinez are garnering academic all-league recognition for the second-straight year.
The Academic All-TRAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have lettered and maintained at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA. Freshmen are not eligible for this postseason award.
This spring, the Fighting Irish posted an 11-13 overall record, 8-6 in the TRAC. Individually, freshman Addy Brinkman was named first-team All-TRAC, freshman Ella Schuberg and Bluhm were tabbed to the second team, and sophomore Kelly Kitz, Aliciana Martinez, and Angelina Martinez earned honorable mention honors.
