Six Softball Players Collect All-TRAC Recognition; Addy Brinkman Named First-Team All-League

Six Central Catholic softball players were recognized by the Three Rivers Athletic Conference as the all-league squads were recently announced.

Freshman Addy Brinkman was awarded a spot on the first team, senior Abby Bluhm and freshman Ella Schuberg were tabbed to the second team, and junior Aliciana Martinez, sophomore Angelina Martinez and sophomore Kelly Kitz earned honorable mention honors.

Bluhm is garnering second-team All-TRAC accolades for the second-straight year.

This spring, the Fighting Irish posted an 11-13 overall record, including an 8-6 ledger in the TRAC.

Individually, Brinkman hit a team-high .514 (36-of-70) with 31 runs scored, nine home runs and 41 RBI. She finished sixth in the league in batting. Brinkman also tallied a 5-4 mark on the mound with 84 punchouts and a 5.07 ERA in 60.2 innings. Bluhm batted .397 (29-of-73) with a squad-best 32 runs scored, while Aliciana Martinez also hit .397 (25-of-63). Schuberg shared time with Brinkman on the bump, posting a 5-8 record with a team-high 141 strikeouts and a 4.61 ERA in a squad-best 82.0 frames.
