Six Baseball Players Earn All-TRAC Accolades; Austin Guerra & Brian Bishop Selected First-Team All-League
Six Central Catholic baseball players were recognized by the Three Rivers Athletic Conference as the all-league squads were recently announced.
Junior Brian Bishop and sophomore Austin Guerra were awarded a spot on the first team, senior A.J. Parker was tabbed to the second team, and senior Trey Gray, senior Jace Sanchez and sophomore Jaxon Sanchez earned honorable mention honors.
Gray is garnering honorable mention all-conference accolades for the second-straight year.
Individually, Bishop hit a team-high .382 (26-of-68) with 15 runs scored, 14 RBI and seven stolen bases. He finished sixth in the league in batting. Parker batted .365 (19-of-52) with 19 runs scored and 11 RBI, while Jaxon Sanchez hit .321 (27-of-84) with 19 runs scored, 10 RBI and eight stolen bases. On the mound, Guerra posted a 2-3 record with 53 strikeouts and a squad-best 1.05 ERA in 40.0 innings. He finished tied for fourth in the conference in ERA.
This spring, the Fighting Irish posted a 10-17 overall record, including a 4-10 ledger in the TRAC.
