Football Takes Down Rival St. John’s Jesuit, 28-7
The Central Catholic football team stretched its winning streak to 4-straight games with a 28-7 victory against rival St. John’s Jesuit on Friday in Gallagher Stadium. With the win, the Fighting Irish improve to 4-1 overall, 2-0 in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference.
CCHS held a 21-7 halftime advantage against the Titans (1-4, 1-1 TRAC) and scored the final 7 points in the 4th quarter to secure its 8th-straight triumph in the series.
Senior RB Chris Edmonds had another big game running the ball for the Scarlet & Gray, finishing with 134 yards and 3 TDs on 19 carries. Edmonds has now topped the century mark in each of the last 4 contests.
Senior QB Ty'Waun Clark also posted big numbers with his feet, totaling a season-high 116 yards rushing.
Central Catholic will return to the gridiron against TRAC foe Lima Senior on Friday, Sept. 23 at 7 pm. A season ago, the Fighting Irish claimed a 43-12 home triumph vs. the Spartans at home on Homecoming.
