Get to Know CCHS Staffulty Member - Danielle Consolo
- What is your role at Central Catholic?
I am the new instrumental music teacher. My role will consist of teaching orchestra, intermediate piano, beginning guitar, beginning piano, music theory, beginning band, concert band, and marching band.
- What is your educational background?
I received my high school diploma at Bellevue High School and earned my bachelor's degree in instrumental music education at Bowling Green State University.
- What did you do before joining the CCHS staff?
I graduated in April with my bachelor's degree and finished my student teaching experience at Otsego High School in Tontogany.
- What inspired you to become a teacher/band director?
I was inspired to become a music teacher during my senior year of high school, when I held leadership experiences in both band and bell choir. Being in leadership positions gave me the opportunity to share my passion for music with others and teach those around me. Teaching others made me realize that I enjoyed helping people, and it filled me with a joy that I couldn't find anywhere else. My music teachers never failed to help me when I had questions or challenges, and they were always excited to see my growth as a musician. I want to do the same for my students.
- What made you want to teach at Central Catholic specifically?
I wanted to teach at Central Catholic High School specifically because everyone here was very welcoming, and I heard nothing but great things about the school, staff, and students.
- What are your goals in working with students, and what do you hope to accomplish in your role as director?
My goals as a band director, as well as for my other classes, are to help my students reach their highest potential and grow as musicians. I want to equip them with the necessary skills to continue their musical studies and participation after graduation.
- What do you like to do outside of work?
My hobbies outside of work consist of golfing, reading, playing my trumpet, spending time with my family, and listening to music.
- Feel free to add anything else you’d like to include so we can get to know you better!
I am very excited to meet everyone and begin my first year at Central Catholic High School! Go Irish!!!
