Get to Know CCHS Staffulty Member - DJ White

- What subjects and grade levels do you teach?
I am teaching freshman theology this school year.

- What is your educational background?
I graduated from Cardinal Stritch Catholic High School in 2016 and from Walsh University in 2020 with two degrees - Adolescent to Young Adult Integrated Social Studies and History.

- What inspired you to become a teacher?
I wanted to become a teacher to inspire future generations to become all they could be.  I felt I had done the most good when someone who doubted themselves came to realize they were enough due to my pointing it out to them.  I wanted to be a father-like figure to kids that needed it, a mentor to those who needed shaping, and a guide to those seeking to better themselves.  I had a high school football coach who was not a teacher by trade, but through his interactions with me taught me more about love and kindness than most others had even come close to.

- What made you want to teach at Central Catholic?
I wanted to teach at Central Catholic because I had a gut feeling that this is where God was calling me to be.  I felt at home and at peace when I walked through the door and was filled with excitement.  It felt like this is where I was supposed to be.

- What are your hobbies or special interests?
I work a second job after school as a cook at Webber’s Waterfront Restaurant.  I also enjoy collecting coins, playing video games and watching movies, or playing with my dog, Rocky.
