Get to Know CCHS Staffulty Member & Alumna - Simone Green, ‘19

Simone Green (Class of 2019) joined the Central Catholic staffulty in January to work as a college and career advisor.  Simone strives to ensure student success after graduation, assisting with college, financial aid, and scholarship applications, and helping to identify various career paths aligned with their passions and interests.

“I wanted to return to Central Catholic because it feels like home,” Simone said.  “As an alumna, I’ve experienced firsthand the supportive environment and the strong sense of community that makes this school so special.  I also had the privilege of helping with the Summer Success classes, where I was able to work directly with the students during their transitions.  Returning as a college and career advisor allows me to give back to the school that gave so much to me, and to help set students up for success as they take their next steps.”

Simone earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a marketing emphasis from the University of Findlay, and a master’s degree in applied communication from the University of Central Missouri.  As a student at Findlay, she was president of the Black Students Union, and she was involved in campus ministry, the President’s Students Council on Belonging, sports psychology/youth mentorship, and the track & field team.  She holds the indoor and outdoor triple jump school records and the indoor long jump school record.  She was a 12-time All-Region honoree, a 4-time GMAC Academic All-Conference honoree, and a 3-time Academic All-American.

Simone has volunteered at Central Catholic as a tutor and mentor, completing over 300 hours of service helping CCHS students, and she worked as a Summer Success teacher at her alma mater from 2021-23.  When Simone was a student at Central Catholic, she was an Irish Scholar, a recipient of the Christian Discipleship Award, and a recipient of the Servant Leadership Award as the senior who completed the most service hours during her 4 years at CCHS.  She was a member of the Lady Irish track & field team and the OHSAA 2019 girls’ long jump state champion.

“We are thrilled to have Simone Green on our staffulty,” said Central Catholic Principal, Morgan Connors.  “She brings a love for CCHS and a care for our students, having graduated from here and having worked several summers through college in our Student Success program.  She possesses the traits of hard work, compassion, and innovation that are necessary to help our students plan for life after CCHS and utilize their talents to the fullest.  I’m excited to see how she impacts our students.”

“I hope to empower students to dream big and pursue paths that align with their passions and strengths,” explained Simone.  “By providing guidance, resources, and encouragement, I want to help them navigate college and career choices with confidence.  My ultimate goal is to equip them with the tools they need to succeed, no matter where life takes them.”

Outside of work, Simone enjoys traveling, working out, reading, volunteer coaching track and field, and spending quality time with her family.
