Girls’ Basketball Comes Up Short vs. Perrysburg at Home, 54-45

The Central Catholic girls’ basketball team sustained a 54-45 loss against Perrysburg on Monday in the Sullivan Center. With the setback, the Fighting Irish fall to 10-6 on the season.

CCHS was outscored 18-7 in the 4th quarter vs. the Yellow Jackets, suffering only its 2nd home loss this year.

Senior Brooklyn Vaughn led the Scarlet & Gray with a contest-best 17 points, 8 rebounds, 5 steals, and 4 assists.

Host Central Catholic also benefited from 10 points by sophomore Nina Stevens and 7 caroms from classmate Serenity Bolden.

Hayden Siebenaler scored 14 points to pace the visiting Yellow Jackets (14-5), including a game-high 6 points in the pivotal 4th stanza.

Addy Byrne added 11 points for Perrysburg, followed closely by Sophie Mitchell and Ayla Turk with 8 points each.

Earlier in the evening, the CCHS freshman team sustained an 18-10 loss against Perrysburg, while the junior varsity squad tallied a 27-17 home setback.

Central Catholic will return to the court against rival Notre Dame Academy on Wednesday, January 31 at 7:15 p.m. in the Sullivan Center. Tickets are currently available at bit.ly/3GUM8lG. Back on January 10, CCHS registered a 50-44 victory vs. the Arrows on the road.
