Girls’ Basketball Defeats Findlay at Home, 43-34

The Central Catholic girls’ basketball team registered a 43-34 win against Findlay on Thursday in the Sullivan Center. With the hard-fought victory, CCHS improves to 14-1 overall, 9-0 in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference.

Junior Corniya Clay paced the Fighting Irish with a game-high 16 points, helping the Scarlet & Gray extend their winning streak to 13-consecutive games.

Senior Jada Dames added 10 points for the reigning TRAC champions, as they claimed its 24th-straight league victory.

Aleksyss Arredondo led the visiting Trojans with 8 points.

Along with Thursday’s win, Central Catholic swept the regular-season series vs. Findlay, posting a 59-49 road victory on Dec. 2.

Earlier in the evening, the CCHS freshman squad registered a 30-19 win against Findlay, while the junior varsity team secured a 42-36 victory.

Central Catholic returns to the hardwood versus Ottawa-Glandorf on Saturday, Jan. 21. The opening tip vs. the Titans is scheduled for 5 pm in the Sullivan Center. Tickets for Saturday’s non-conference matchup MUST be pre-purchased online at bit.ly/3EjJhky.
