Girls’ Basketball Sustains 75-37 Loss vs. Father Gabriel Richard on Road
The Central Catholic girls’ basketball team sustained a 75-37 loss against Father Gabriel Richard on Friday in the FGR Gym. With the road setback, the Fighting Irish fall to 3-9 overall, 3-3 in the Catholic High School League.
CCHS trailed 33-11 at halftime vs. FGR and could not post a comeback to snap its 2-game win streak.
Junior Nina Stevens paced the Scarlet & Gray with 13 points, followed by freshman Kalyse Mays and senior Paris Waites with 8 and 7 points, respectively.
Saige Edmondson and Ava Rodriguez led FGR with 14 points each. The duo were instrumental in the home team’s 1st-half surge, combining for 13 points.
The trio of Charlotte Miller (13 pts.), Vanessa Rodriguez (12 pts.), and Mary Catherine Fredericks (10 pts.) also contributed double-digit scoring to help FGR sweep the regular-season series against CCHS.
Earlier in the evening, the CCHS junior varsity team registered a 24-21 victory vs. Father Gabriel Richard on the road.
