Tefft Finishes 6th at Boys’ Golf District Championship; Qualifies for State Tournament

Central Catholic boys’ golfer Grant Tefft shot 4-over par 76 at the Division II District Championship on Thursday at Eagle's Landing Golf Club in nearby Oregon. With yesterday’s effort, the CCHS senior has qualified for the OHSAA State Tournament, which will be held Friday, Oct. 14 at the OSU Scarlet Course in Columbus.

The Top 3 teams and 3 individuals not on a qualifying team advance to next week’s state championship.

Tefft finished in 6th place at Eagle’s Landing after carding a 39 on the front and 37 on the back. He secured the 3rd individual spot for the state tourney and was named 1st-team All-District.

A 2-time 2nd-team All-TRAC honoree, Tefft becomes Central Catholic’s 1st boys’ golfer to advance to the state championship since Jack Grombacher in 2017. That year, Grombacher placed 12th at the state competition.
