Priest Leader Father David Kidd Appointed Director of Diocesan Priestly Vocations for Diocese of Toledo

Central Catholic Priest Leader Father David D. Kidd has been appointed Director of Diocesan Priestly Vocations for the Diocese of Toledo, the Most Reverend Bishop Daniel E. Thomas announced on Saturday, March 1.

Bishop Thomas also disclosed the appointment of alumnus Father Kevin D. Moebius (Class of 1999) to CCHS Priest Leader.  Father Moebius, who will be coming from St. Peter Parish and St. Mary of the Snows Parish, both in Mansfield, will also serve as Parochial Vicar at Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral, Saints Adalbert & Hedwig Parish, and St Joseph Catholic Church.  Both appointments are effective July 1, 2024.

“It has been an honor of a lifetime to serve as the Priest Leader at Central Catholic High School,” said Father Kidd, who began working at CCHS on July 1, 2019.  “I would love to serve at CCHS for 40 years, for I have so loved my time here, at this slice of heaven on earth.  It is with faith in God’s plan that I become the Director of Vocations for the Diocese of Toledo.  I’m excited for the opportunity to work with young men to discern God’s call in their life.  I’m thrilled that I will be working only one mile from CCHS as I will be forever Irish!”

Added Father Moebius, “The opportunity to give back in priestly ministry to a school who has given me so much, words cannot describe.  The only way I can describe it is a feeling of pure love.  I'm looking forward to serving at and ministering to the CCHS family that pours out the love of Christ every day to each person that walks through those blessed doors.  What a gift!”

“Father Kidd has been an incredible asset to Central Catholic,” said Head of School Kevin Parkins.  “His work in the classroom, support of our extracurricular activities, and ability to form disciples in the Gospel is second-to-none. I’m sad to see him go, but I’m excited for him in this new role.”
