Scholarship Gala is a Great Success!!!

The total is now in from Central Catholic’s 30th annual scholarship gala, Monte Carlo Night, on March 19 at The Pinnacle in Maumee.  Thank you to everyone who attended and supported our event.  Your generosity helped us raise $375,000 for the student scholarship fund.

We appreciate the hands-on dedication of our honorary chairs, Andrew Grombacher ’87 and Lynn (Speweik) Grombacher ’88.  Thank you as well as to our general chair, Shelly Seymour '89, and more than 50 student ambassadors who helped with the event and talked to guests about their experiences at Central Catholic.  We are also grateful to the presenting sponsors, the Grombacher Family and Mercy Health, and our additional event sponsors: Bill and Cathy Carroll, Signature Bank, Luken T. Boyle Campaign for Kindness, Perrysburg Auto Mall, Gary and Dawn Thompson, Campbell Mechanical Services, Habitec Security, Jennite Paving & Sealing, Romanoff Group, Savage & Associates, TDC, The Andersons, William Vaughn Company, Hafner Florist, and Mike and Cindy Holmes.

Guests enjoyed a walk down the red carpet, an elegant dinner, a performance by the Central Catholic Glee Club, gaming tables with raffle prizes, NCAA Tournament games and squares, and an online silent auction, which included an emerald and diamond choker necklace valued at $750, a two-hour cruise on a 75-foot Hatteras, and a Notre Dame football package.  A card raffle included 12 bottles of wine from Bob Savage's wine cellar, a pendant from Joseph Licata Jewelers and Alan Miller Jewelers valued at $750, and a diamond bracelet from J. Foster Jewelers valued at $699.

The winner of the seven-day, six-night stay for two at the luxurious Makai Club Resort in Kauai, Hawaii was announced at the end of the evening.  Michael Walz ’92 of Hampstead, NC was the big winner of the trip, which includes accommodations and airfare through a Delta Airlines voucher and is valued at more than $5,000.
